Kallaloo Farms LLC, operated by Edward Schuster, Sr., a third-generation farmer, is located on the island of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Spanning 50 acres, the farm specializes in the production of Nubian and African Boer goats, as well as Dorper and St. Croix White sheep. All livestock are pasture-raised on natural grass, without the use of steroids or hormones. The grant awarded by RAFI will fund the acquisition of a 5,000-gallon water tank, which will serve as an essential resource to ensure a steady water supply for the animals during dry and drought periods. Additionally, this tank will aid in water collection during the rainy season, supporting the farm’s sustainable water management practices.
