About Us:

Members of AgFirst Community Cooperative of Kentucky, Inc. have farms across Kentucky. We are comprised of mostly African American farmers; many who are considered socially disadvantaged. We work with many partners such as Kentucky State University and Black Soil Better Nature. Our goal is to help farmers get the best prices for their produce.

Our Anticipated Grant Activities:

With these grant funds we plan to:

  1. Attend the CARET (Council on Research Education and Teaching) conference in Washington DC in February 2025 with Kentucky State University to meet with elected officials serving throughout the Commonwealth to discuss climate and the recent Farm Bill. 
  2. Attend the BUGS conference (Black Farmers and Urban Gardeners Conference) with Kentucky State University in Houston Texas in November of 2024 to discuss policy with farmers across the nation.
  3. Offer and support showings of “Four Voices of the Same Song,” a documentary about four women farmers discussing climate change.
