Improving land access and land security for farmers in North Carolina, Florida, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico

What is it? A new program from RAFI focused on helping farmers improve their businesses, access to markets, and access to land.  This program is in partnership with the Alliance for Agriculture, Virgin Island Good Food, Florida Organic Growers, Fundación Bucarabón, and Fideicomiso de Tierras Comunitarias para la Agricultura Sostenible (FiTiCAS). 

How will it work? The program will include:

• Trainings and webinars,
• one-on-one assistance,
• meetups with buyers, and 
• grants for infrastructure and land. 

What kind of help can I get through this program?

Some of the ways we can help are:

• Understanding what resources are available to purchase land, including USDA
• Identifying how to financially prepare for a land purchase
• Finding markets to sell your products
• Understanding the organic certification process and help getting through it 
• Navigating loan applications
