Elisha Williams is the owner and grower behind The Cardboard Garden, a half-acre urban farm in Mableton, Georgia. Founded in 2023, the farm produces seasonal vegetables, herbs, berries, microgreens, and hydroponic lettuce, which is grown in a system with the yield potential of a half-acre. Elisha and her farm manager, Shakera Lawrence, work alongside dedicated community volunteers to bring fresh, locally grown food to farmers markets, WIC, and Senior Markets.
Passionate about education and community connection, Elisha uses her farm as a teaching space to show children and adults how food is grown, with a focus on regenerative and sustainable practices. The Cardboard Garden will use this stipend to assist with the buildout of a microgreen facility and make infrastructure upgrades that will conserve water and support more on-farm learning events. A proud member of Georgia Women in Agriculture, Elisha describes her operation as “tiny but mighty,” committed to nourishing her community and inspiring the next generation of growers.
