Lyric East owns and operates Wild East Farm, a 40-acre diversified farm in Marion, North Carolina, producing vegetables, chicken, pork, turkey, and tree crops — all grown and raised organically. Founded in 2022, Wild East Farm is rooted in a mission to live in close relationship with the land, serve the community, and grow the highest-integrity food possible.
Wild East Farm sells through farmers markets, a CSA, and wholesale to nonprofit partners, with nearly half of all food grown distributed for free to the community. Lyric farms alongside their spouse, three full-time employees, and part-time help, building a workplace that values both people and the planet.
With their 2025 stipend, Wild East Farm will install a thoughtfully designed automatic irrigation system for their no-till vegetable gardens. This upgrade will ensure consistent, efficient watering despite extreme rainfall fluctuations, free up time for other essential farm work, and improve crop health while conserving water. For Lyric, farming is about more than production — it’s about relationships, resilience, and nourishing the regional food system.
