Brooke Kornegay is the owner of Kornecopia Farm, a one-acre diversified vegetable and herb farm in Boone, North Carolina. Founded in 2025, the farm is rooted in Brooke’s mission to produce vibrant, nutrient-dense food by focusing on the foundation of all growth — healthy, balanced soil. Through years of studying soil biology and organic matter enrichment, Brooke has developed practices that infuse vitality into every crop grown.
Kornecopia Farm sells through multiple channels, including CSAs for Watauga Medical staff and the Hospitality House (via Second Harvest Food Bank), the High Country Food Hub, a farm stand, local restaurants, and the community’s pay-what-you-can F.A.R.M. Café. Brooke works alongside employees and interns, fostering a collaborative, hands-on learning environment.
With support from these funds, Kornecopia Farm will provide stipends to Appalachian State University interns, ensuring they can participate in the farm’s first production season. This investment offers crucial financial stability in a startup year, while deepening community ties, expanding local food access, and cultivating the next generation of soil-focused farmers.
