Amanda Stamp is the founder of Connected Roots Farm, a 17-acre property in Broad Run, Virginia, with 2.5 acres dedicated to flowers, vegetables, and herbs. Launched in 2025, the farm will eventually expand to include eggs and meat chickens. Amanda’s path to farming grew from a lifelong passion for gardening, years of community food security work, and hands-on training through the Future Harvest Beginner Farmer Program.
Connected Roots Farm is built on a mission to use regenerative practices to nurture the land, provide nutrient-dense food and flowers, and strengthen the local food system in Northern Virginia. The stipend will be used to support current projects including building foundational infrastructure such as fencing, irrigation, and compost-amended growing beds on previously raw land.
Amanda is the farm’s primary grower, supported by her husband’s building skills and occasional help from friends. She is committed to preserving farmland in an area threatened by development and envisions the farm as both a productive, sustainable enterprise and a community hub for connection, nourishment, and environmental stewardship.
