Augusto A. Feliciano Alvarado works at Finca El Timon, located in Puerto Rico in the municipality of Lares. The farm is committed to preserving the native breed of cattle in Puerto Rico. It offers products derived from the milk of native cows and also offers for sale the new calves that are born annually. The farm is currently experimenting with producing supplementary feed for cattle with inputs produced on the farm itself. With these funds, Feliciano Alvarado will work to condition the rest of the farm so that it can be used for grazing cattle in its entirety, implementing a rotation system that will allow for an increase in the number of heads of cattle and thus increased production.
Finca El Timon esta ubicada en Puerto Rico en el municipio de Lares. La misma ofrece productos derivados de la leche de nuestra crianza de bovinos criollos. Ademas ofrecemos en venta las crias nuevas que nacen anualmente. Este proyecto esta comprometido con preservar la raza de ganado criolla de Puerto Rico. Actualmente estamos experimentando con producir alimento suplementario para el ganado con insumos producidos en la misma finca. Con estos fondos pretendo acondicionar el restante de la finca para que pueda ser utilizada para el pastoreo del ganado en su totalidad. Implemetando un sistema de rotacion que permita aumentar el numnero de cabezas de ganado aumentando asi la produccion de nuestra operacion.
