We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and gratitude this month from all of you who nominated a favorite farmer or food hero. It was a tough decision to make, but we had to stick to our word and pick one winner to highlight today.

It’s no secret that a necessary component to what we do is the support we get to do it. Today, we thank our donors for their incredible backing and loyalty as we further advance our mission to cultivate markets, policies and communities that sustain thriving, socially just and environmentally sound family farms.

“As a farmer,” he explained, “you have to learn to be mechanics, electricians and plumbers because you can't afford to hire those folks.”
