And it’s even more unusual when instead of growing the region’s big crops of cotton, peanuts, soybeans, wheat, and tobacco, he or she starts to grow produce with their congregation for a retail market.

NC Attorney General's Office Issues Landowner Protection Report

The Consumer Protection Division of the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office recently released the consumer protection section of the DENR shale gas study. We support many of the reports’ findings and recommendations, but we do suggest modifications to some and substantial changes to a few. For details, please read our letter to the Division.

NC DENR Releases Draft Fracking Study: Landowner Rights Sections Still Pending

The North Carolina Department of Energy and Natural Resources has released their draft study on the potential impacts of fracking in North Carolina. Not included in this draft are the sections on landowner rights and protections, for which RAFI provided extensive input. Those sections should be coming out from the Attorney General's Office early next month.
