The Eastern North Carolina Farmer Collaborative (ENCFC) works with 17 small, beginning, and socially disadvantaged farms across Northeast North Carolina. Members of the collaborative produce a variety of goods, including vegetables, eggs, honey, grits, cornmeal, dry beans, beef, pork, and chicken. ENCFC supports its members by aggregating and transporting products to food hubs, retail stores, restaurants, and other outlets to enhance profitability. The collaborative prioritizes producing unprocessed foods for their community to improve local health outcomes. With grant funds, ENCFC will procure portable irrigation equipment to be shared among its members, boosting productivity across their farms.
