Pedro Gonzalez owns and operates Pedro Gonzalez Farm, located in Frederiksted, USVI. Spanning 300 acres, the farm raises cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs, supplying local supermarkets and individual customers with high-quality livestock. Pedro began working on the farm alongside his father at six years old and took full management responsibility in 1994 after his father’s retirement. Over the past 30 years, Pedro has honed his skills, many of which were self-taught or gained through his experience as a heavy equipment operator. His practical ingenuity is evident in the various farm infrastructures he has developed, including a unique hydraulic small livestock treatment containment unit. This innovative equipment, designed and built by Pedro, has streamlined livestock care, improving efficiency and safety for his operations. With the new RAFI funds, Pedro aims to further enhance his farm’s capabilities, investing in modernizing equipment and expanding infrastructure to continue providing for his community.
