Seyed-Ali Mousavi and his wife, Susan Sergeant, own and operate Mousavi Farm near Mocksville, NC. They provide their growing customer base with a variety of seasonal vegetables, fruits, fresh and dried herbs, local honey (liquid, creamed, and with comb), eggs, halal meats (sheep and chicken), and assorted plants. The farm also features a thriving beekeeping operation.
Seyed-Ali, who earned his Master Beekeeping degree from Cornell University in 2023, is dedicated to educating the public about the importance of honeybees and successful beekeeping practices. To address climate challenges, Mousavi Farm plans to install rainwater harvesting systems on four existing outbuildings. These systems will collect up to 5,200 gallons of water to irrigate gardens and orchards, ensuring a sustainable water supply during increasingly frequent summer droughts while preserving their well resources.
