Xiomara Feliciano Martinez is the founder of Finca Xiojana, located in the Naranjales neighborhood of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. The farm is dedicated to the planting, harvesting and production of Arabica coffee, alternating with citrus and farinaceous fruits. In the process, Finca Xiojana highlights Puerto Rican culture and traditions, such as harvesting only when ripe and harvesting 100% in the sun. The farm also allows visits by appointment so visitors can learn about coffee cultivation on the island. Thanks to the RAFI grant Feliciano Martinez will be able to purchase processing equipment which will improve the working environment for the team and optimize control in the management of Café Xiojana.
Mi nombre es Xiomara Feliciano Martinez. Fundadora de Finca Xiojana, ubicada en el Bo. Naranjales del pueblo de Mayagüez. En mi finca me dedico a la siembra, cosecha y producción de café arábica, intercalando cítricos y farináceos. Resaltamos la cultura y tradiciones puertorriqueñas en su proceso como lo es la recolección únicamente madura y el sacado 100% al sol. Ofrecemos la experiencia de visitar nuestra finca por cita previa y educarse sobre el tema del cultivo del café en nuestra isla.Gracias al incentivo de RAFI, logramos mejorar el ambiente laboral de nuestro equipo y optimizar el control en el manejo de Café Xiojana. Esta aportación es un paso clave hacia la excelencia en nuestra producción.
